Sigur Rós

Jón Þór Birgisson (Jónsi), Georg Hólm y Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson formaron el grupo en Reykjavík, Islandia, en agosto de 1994. El nombre del grupo fue tomado de la hermana menor de Jónsi, llamada Sigurrós, la cual nació el mismo día. El grupo pronto ganó un contrato con la discográfica local, Bad Taste.

Codeine Velvet Club

Codeine Velvet Club es el nombre de la nueva banda formada por Jon Lawler, mejor conocido como Jon Fratelli, en tanto que el resto de los Fratellis se toman un merecido descanso antes de entrar al estudio para grabar su tercer disco.

En esta agrupación, Jon Fratelli, es acompañado por Lou Hickey con quien compartió la responsabilidad de escribir gran parte de las canciones del album debut de Codeine Velvet Club, en donde incluso aparece una pieza que originalmente fue escrita para ser una colaboración entre los Fratellis y Roger Daltrey de The Who que a final de cuentas no se pudo materializar.

El primer sencillo de Codeine Velvet Club se llama Hollywood y cuenta con una estupenda version de I Am The Resurrection de los Stone Roses como Lado B...
